Life has been what I expected since we got back from vacation 3 1/2 weeks ago. Not that it has been bad. I just had visions of getting back to running, eating well. Yeah, not so much.
In the 2 weeks we were home before the kids got home, I enjoyed staying up late and sleeping late (well, as late as I could before having to go to work!).
Running has been in the back of my mind for weeks but the weather really has been pretty brutal since we got back - if it wasn't a heat wave, then it was the humidity.
I was supposed to do a 10K this coming Saturday but since I haven't run since June 14 I knew that wasn't going to happen (plus it is much easier for me to blow off races that don't include a medal!)
Quite a few times in the last week I've laid out clothes to run but haven't because it was 70-75 at 6 am and 90-95% humidity.
But I've been not feeling great lately (2nd half of my cycle) so I know exercise is the key to feeling better. So I laid out work out clothes, not running clothes, and even though I've been up since 3 am I made myself get up and do a workout. I did Day 1 of the original 21 Day Fix but tomorrow I am going to do Day 2 of the 21 Day Fix Realtime.
It wasn't an easy workout but it is better than nothing!
We are 1/3 of the way through out 21 Days of birthdays. But we are going away this weekend (even though I am not doing the race, we are still going to Maine since we aren't doing a family vacation this summer), then next week is my daughter's birthday (out to dinner 1 night and then ice cream and cake on her actual birthday) and my birthday is in 3 weeks which will be the Melting Pot. But I am not going to eat badly the full 21 days. I am going to continue with my workouts and try to eat better.
And for the Fall/Winter this is what I've got coming up:
-10K race the beginning of October so I've got to start running soon even if it means the dreadmill
-1/2 Marathon on January 11 in Disney - 1/2 marathon training will start November 11 so I need to be up to 6-7 miles at that time (which I will be since the 10K is a month before - I'll just keep up the 6-7 miles).
So sitting around is over, time to get moving.....again!
